I see now that the cult of conformity operates throughout the social media sphere and are influenced more by the negative than the positive, and that the positive is often times regulated to a class of impotency or indifference. Light that is birthed solely on man’s strength is limited and not infinite. People become lethargic, disillusioned, tired quickly, and afflicted. There’s a widespread falsehood that being positive and upbeat is empowering and it sometimes actually is, but the well runs dry eventually because such things are fueled by hubris ultimately. And hubris is simply translated arrogance of men, which isn’t positive. Darkness doesn’t birth light, just as love doesn’t create hate.
I seldom feed into social media frenzy. My limited presence is posting a few quotes and photos time to time, but generally I do like sharing quotes and thoughts here and there. Not for the sake of drawing notice, that doesn’t sustain nor satisfy me in the least bit. But for many, they have an unhealthy reliance for relevancy from such platforms that requires a more deeper analysis and sobriety to break apart from. I call these lotus eaters the afflicted because they are swayed by the winds of pandemonium and wonder to themselves why like victims of some tragedy in the theater of their own minds.
